How To Create a Ritual Bath for Imbolc

ritualbath1.jpg

A relaxing bath is a great form of self-care. It also has an array of MANY other amazing health benefits, such as reducing muscle tension, improving blood circulation, boosting the immune system, removing toxins from the body, and promoting a great night's sleep. Ritual baths are also a viable addition in the treatment of depression and stress reduction.

With a ritual bath, you use this water to anoint your body. In countries like India, the Hindus take ritual baths in "sacred holy water" by taking a dip in the River Ganges. Ritual baths are often used in these ways to ward off negativity and promote positivity.

Below, My Sacred Spine Team Member & Reiki Master, Archana Edmond, offers her take on a relaxing, cleansing ritual bath for the Imbolc Season:

INGREDIENTS FOR YOUR RITUAL BATH

~ 2 cups Epsom Salts
~ 1 Cup of Milk (can use Nut Milk) of your choice
~ 1/2 Cup of Honey
~ 2 Teaspoons of Lavender buds, slighty crushed, or you may use 4-5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
~ Lemon Peel from 1 Lemon

Add the Epsom Salt, Milk, and Honey to your bath as your tub fills up with water. You can put the Lavender buds and lemon peel into a cheese cloth, making it into a bundle and dropping it in the water, for easy cleanup. You may even add Lavender and Chamomile tea bags to the bath. Make the bath your own by personalizing it. Safely light some white candles and place some crystals of your choice around your tub.

Your ritual bath should last for 20-30 minutes. Make sure to STAY HYDRATED before and after your bath.
